Aubrey Hays was raised in Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and a Navajo Reservation in rural Arizona - a varied array of settings that have contributed to her sensitivity to place and surroundings that is reflected in her work.
She received her Bachelors of Fine Art in Photography from Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland Oregon, and completed her MFA in Photography at Parsons The New School For Design, NYC. She has exhibited nationally, participating in a group show at Aperture Gallery, as well as the Pingyao International Photo Festival in China. Aubrey also completed an Artist Residency in Iceland, where she developed a body of work exploring a solo plane of isolation in the great North. She currently lives in Brooklyn and runs for the woods whenever possible.
